Security blitz along border slows smugglers

By JOHN W. GONZALEZ

DEL RIO -
A secretive multi-agency law enforcement blitz targeting human and drug trafficking in a desolate stretch of the border has curtailed illegal activity and befuddled smuggling cartels, Gov. Rick Perry disclosed Tuesday.

The three-week initiative that ended Monday in five border counties used state troopers and sheriff's deputies as a second line of defense behind the U.S. Border Patrol and other federal agencies, with surprising results, Perry said.

"We've effectively shut down these international crime syndicates in this sector of the Texas border, and that is a powerful statement,"
the governor said....

Bush Administration Quietly Plans NAFTA Super Highway

Please pass this on. It looks like a stake thru the heart of American labor. How the public reacts to this, in conjunction with the immigration issue, the ports deal, and the airlines, should indicate whether America is worth saving.

Quietly but systematically, the Bush Administration is advancing the plan to build a huge NAFTA Super Highway, four football-fields-wide, through the heart of the U.S. along Interstate 35, from the Mexican border at Laredo, Tex., to the Canadian border north of Duluth, Minn.

Once complete, the new road will allow containers from the Far East to enter the United States through the Mexican port of Lazaro Cardenas, bypassing the Longshoreman’s Union in the process. The Mexican trucks, without the involvement of the Teamsters Union, will drive on what will be the nation’s most modern highway straight into the heart of America. The Mexican trucks will cross border in FAST lanes, checked only electronically by the new “SENTRI” system. The first customs stop will be a Mexican customs office in Kansas City, their new Smart Port complex, a facility being built for Mexico at a cost of $3 million to the U.S. taxpayers in Kansas City....

Los Angeles, CA -- The November 2004 election has come and gone. One of the first items for the second term of the Bush Administration will be a big push to LEGALIZE the millions of ILLEGAL ALIENS here in America. WHOOAA! Where did this come from?

This agenda item wasn't a campaign pledge. It wasn't mentioned by President Bush at any campaign rally anywhere in America at any time prior to the election. Yet it is the number one agenda item to come out of the White House post election. America, we've been snookered again.

President George W. Bush is a sneak. A snake....

The Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant in the picture is Michael Burghard, part of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team that is supporting 2nd Brigade 28th Infantry Division (Pennsylvania Army National Guard).

Leading the fight is Gunnery Sgt Michael Burghardt, known as "Iron Mike" or just "Gunny". He is on his third tour in Iraq. He had become a legend in the bomb disposal world after winning the Bronze Star for disabling 64 IEDs and destroying 1,548 pieces of ordnance during his second tour. Then, on September 19, he got blown up. He had arrived at a chaotic scene after a bomb had killed four US soldiers. He chose not to wear the bulky bomb protection suit. "You can't react to any sniper fire and you get tunnel-vision," he explains. So, protected by just a helmet and standard-issue flak jacket, he began what bomb disposal officers term "the longest walk", stepping gingerly into a 5ft deep and 8ft wide crater....

Company Hopes Sign Keeps Illegal Immigrants Away

POSTED: 11:11 am CDT June 13, 2006
VAN BUREN, Ark. -- Managers at a Van Buren job site have posted an immigration sign with hopes of preventing any problems with illegal immigrants working there.

The sign reads, "This Site Monitored By Immigration," and it's visible at a site on Fayetteville Road. Managers said they just wanted to be upfront and let people know they are in compliance with the law when it comes to their hiring practices.

"That's why we put the sign out there and just let them, warn them right off the bat," said job site Superintendent Rickey Marise.

Immigration officials said they don't monitor job sites, but they encourage employers to make sure all of their employees can legally work in this country.

There's something new at your local Dunkin' Donuts, and, some might say it's more satisfying than a hot cup of coffee and a fresh donut.

Recently, the nationwide chain began posting signs in its stores alerting customers and potential employees, "We follow the law! This company hires lawful workers only."

The new signs arrived just after the company signaled that it joined the Basic Pilot Program which quickly and easily allows employers to verify a worker's status using online databases from the Social Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

Stephen Horn, chief legal officer for Dunkin' Brands Inc., said
the donut chains are participating in the Basic Pilot Program due to "the growing awareness of the hiring and employment of undocumented workers and the difficulty faced by employers for screening new hires within the confines of the law."

Whether or not you're a Dunkin' Donuts customer, please let the company know that the majority of Americans appreciate and applaud their efforts to act as a responsible corporate citizen in communities across America.

Charlie Daniels on Mexicans

By Charlie Daniels

Mexican Standoff

I don't know how everybody else feels about it, but to me I think Hispanic people in this country, legally or illegally, made a huge public relations mistake with their recent demonstrations.

I don't blame anybody in the world for wanting to come to the United States of America, as it is a truly wonderful place. But when the first thing you do when you set foot on American soil is illegal it is flat out wrong and I don't care how many lala land left heads come out of the woodwork and start trying to give me
sensitivity lessons. I don't need sensitivity lessons, in fact I don't have anything against Mexicans, I just have something against criminals and anybody who comes into this country illegally is a criminal and if you don't believe it try coming into America from a foreign country without a passport and see how far you get...
